09 February, 2021 (SALONE TIMES)

FREETOWN – A leaked audio making the rounds in the social media revealed that only the three candidates in the Isha Johansen’s camp will qualify for the post of President, Vice President 1, and Vice president 2. The audio exposed that Isha Johansen will be the sole candidate for presidency, Junior Navo for Vice President 1 and Badara Kamara for Vice President 2. That they will disqualify Rodney Michael for his alleged link with a betting company in Sierra Leone, Brima Mazola Kamara will be ban for using $50,000 which he did not account for and for giving false witness against Isha in a court; Hon. Francis Konuwa will be disqualified for embezzling Le64M and for forging the signature of the FA President to acquire money.

The audio also accused Konuwa of stealing a Iphone in one of the congresses he attended in Mexico.

The audio further stated the plan is that Isha will rule for some years and will retire to let Navo and the others continue.

In the 2013 FA election, Rodney and other candidates were banned due to an alleged match fixing allegation and affiliation with a betting company.

But after the election, the FA President accepted in Parliament that she used the match fixing allegation for political purposes.

In the electoral process this year, the electoral committee has already disqualified two candidates for presidency and three for Exco members during nominations.

Looking at past experience, football members have concluded that the FA President wants to use the same system to go unopposed in the FA’s election.

According to the members, Rodney Michael has got nothing to do with the Mercury International Betting and Lottery Company in Sierra Leone.

In the audio message, two executive members were accused of corruption which the football members said if it is true; the FA President should explain why she failed to exposed them before now.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary oversight committee for Sports in Sierra Leone has invited the committee members in the electoral process, the football members and the FA Secretary General to inquire into the process for which Parliament has halted the process until after the inquiry.
