Hon Mahmoud Kamara aka Nice Guy from Western Area Urban has called on the Ministry of finance to provide funds to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for the completion of the 100 beds hospital project at Lumley which is at the finishing stage.
Hon Kamara made this statement last Wednesday November 22nd 2023 at the Well of Parliament while contributing to the Appropriation Act 2024.
He went on to say that the only things left to fix at the hospital are windows and equipment, noting that the project which was started by Former President Ernest Bai Koroma is a four storey building but that when this government came in 2018 they decided to forget about the 100 bed hospital, and opted to construct a pediatric hospital.
He appealed to the government to provide funds so that the hospital can be completed because his people are suffering with no medical center.
He called on the government that when they are re-opening the pediatric hospital, they should do it together with the 100 beds because his people are suffering at Lumley.
Meanwhile, Hon Mohamed Alpha Jalloh of Falaba district said that 5% tax on rice is a killer.
