Bo Rangers In Top Position Battle

FREETOWN, Mar. 04 (SALONE TIMES) – The Sierra Leone premier league continued over the weekend with six matches at six venues both in the provinces and in the capital city. In Bo the premier league leaders Bo Rangers defeated Bai Bureh Warriors 2-1 on Saturday to extend the lead at the league table to 3 points between them and the defending champions East End Lions. The defending champions forced the Sierra Leone Police FC to a 1-1 draw at the Siaka Steven Stadium on Sunday. Also on Saturday at the Siaka Steven Stadium the informed Blackpool team defeated Central Parade FC 3-0. On the same Saturday at the Approved School field Anti-Drugs FC defeated Old Edwardians 2-0. On Sunday East End Tigers lost to SLIFA FC 0-1 at the Police field at Kingtom in Freetown. Wusum Stars drew with Diamond Stars in Makeni at the Wusum field. The league will continue today at two venues in Freetown. In the afternoon hours Ports Authority FC will host FC Johansen at the Brima Attouga mini stadium, Clinetown. In the evening hours relegation threat Old Edwardians will host Mighty Blackpool at the Siaka Steven Stadium. In the today’s match Old Edwardians with 19 points in the 14 position needs nothing less than victory today to move out of the relegation zone and Blackpool with 22 points in 11th position needs a victory to close the gap between them and clubs at the top but will not move. Edwards lost their last match played against Anti-Drugs FC by 2-0 while Blackpool won their last match played against Central Parade 3-0. The league will continue of Friday with FCFC hosting East End Lions at the Attouga mini Stadium, Clinetown in Freetown. On the same day in Makeni FC Kallon will host Anti-Drugs FC at the Wusum field.
