Broad connect has launched an e-church free internet fiber connectivity project in Freetown. The event took place at no 18 Dundas Street on December 2nd 2022.  Broad Connect is a sierra Leonean based company which provides internet connectivity to the public and it is locally sponsored. It is a very small business and was established a year ago. Broad Connect will provide free fiber internet connectivity to 100 churches in 2023.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Business Officer Desmond Macfoy said that Broad Connect is ready to provide free superfast and high-speed internet service to churches. He said that the project will target one hundred churches across Freetown and will support online live streaming of church services and programs adding that the ‘’gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come’’ (Mathew 24.14)

He also said that they want to use wifi technology to spread the word and good tdings of God in the church through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. He added that the project is designed to support churches in Sierra Leone in order to gain online presence and deliver real-time broadcast online.  ‘’We will provide the exact band required so that our customers will be able to broadcast at 10-80 streaming and will also be able to have 3000 to 6000 kilobeat per second’’, he added.

Mr. Macfoy however pointed out that the project is expensive and will cost them Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand United States Dollars ($220,000) Dollars. He continued that they will do an assessment program with churches to ensure that churches have correct tools or equipment in terms of cameras and computers that will be able to stream adding that it is going to be partner program with churches. It is left on us to leverage what we have as tool to preach the word of God he said

Victor Barber-Richards Head of Commercial and Marketing Operations said that Broad Connect is a Sierra Leone based company which is locally sponsor. He said the company is a very small business and was established a year ago. He assured the public of effective service delivery and Broadconnect is here to salvage the of poor internet connectivity noting that all the management staff are veterans in telecommunications and they have contributed to Sierra Leone’s telecommunication sector. He furthered that the company has employed over hundred Sierra Leoneans and will provide training for their marketers and they will also train the technicians as fiber technicians to ensure efficient service delivery. He called on the general public to go in for their services because Broad Connect internet connectivity is affordable, reliable and of high speed.
