President Julius Maada Bio has told the new Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Wang Qing, that his government values the relationship between the two countries.
He made this statement during the presentation of the letter of credence of the new Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone at State House’s Credential Hall on Wednesday, 4th January, 2023.
“My government is grateful for the relationship between the two countries. In the height of COVID-19, my government got support from China. So, we have enjoyed the relationship at both bilateral and multilateral levels. We are two great friends,” he said.
He said the outgone ambassador was very proactive in maintaining our relationship, adding, “you always have my support during your stay in Sierra Leone.”
The new Chinese ambassador to Sierra Leone, Wang Qing, said he was honoured to present a letter of credence from President Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, to his Sierra Leonean counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio.
“China and Sierra Leone have enjoyed great friendship with the aim of having a community of a shared future. I know I will get maximum support from the government and the people of Sierra Leone throughout my stay,” he said.
