FC Kallon have officially qualified to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifying rounds. In the first round FC Kallon was to play against AS Douanes of Niger. Because of the political impasse in Niger, AS Douanes decided to play their home match in Bo/Sierra Leone at the Southern Arena stadium. The Southern Arena was also the home ground for FC Kallon meaning the two matches would have taking place in Bo. But the Air space in Niger is presently closed so AS Douanes has decided to quit from the competition as they don’t have an air space to fly into Sierra Leone. An executive member of FC Kallon Tunde Scott said by the time they received the quit news they have already book in Hotels for the two teams and the match officials including cars and buses for the two clubs. As per agreement he said they will not receive all the monies they paid for the Hotels and the vehicles. He went on that they know it a crisis beyond the control of the Niger club. But he went on that they will be meeting with the FA President and his executive to discuss about the way forward for the present situation they are facing. FC Kallon is now waiting to face the winner between MILO FC from Guinea and Dreams FC from Ghana for the second preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. To prepare for the next matches Tunde Scott said they have planned to play two international friendly matches to keep the players fit. Why doing all this he said the technical team is also monitoring the preparation of the two clubs to know their game style. He went on that they will be taking a close look at the two matches in Guinea and in Ghana and try to get video clips of the two matches.
