FREETOWN, Aug 3 (SALONE TIMES – 232news.com) – Sources coming from the Birmingham Commonwealth Games stated that two Sierra Leone female boxers have got a bye in their respective weight categories after the draw for the 50kg and the 70kg. The two female boxers are Sara Jao 50kg and Zainab Keita 70kg. According to source the two female boxers are the first ever female boxers to represent Sierra Leone in the Commonwealth Games and the first time to compete in the quarter-final stage. During the draw the boxing rules also qualifies John Browne in the 61-63 kg weight category and Yusif Kargbo in the 63-67 kg to the round of 16 in the competition. In the swimming category Joshua Wyse an Olympian is in Heat1 for the 50M Butter Fly while Isha Kanu is in Heat1 for the 50M Breast Stroke. Among the other swimmers, Mohamed Kamara will represent Sierra Leone in the 50M Free and Breast Strokes, Titi Dubumya an Olympian will represent Sierra Leone in the 50M Free and Fly strokes. In the Wrestling competition Zainab Barrie will represent Sierra Leone in the 57kg Women’s Freestyle competition, Sheku Kassegbama will represent Sierra Leone in the Men’s 86kg Freestyle and Mohamed Bundu in the 125kg Men’s Freestyle on the 5th August 2022. The following day the 6th August 2022 Madusu Koroma will represent Sierra Leone in the 76Kg Women’s Freestyle and Mohamed Sesay in the 74kg Men’s Freestyle competition.
