FREETOWN – As part of their cooperate social responsibility, one of Sierra Leone finest 5 star hotels, Atlantic Lumley Hotel has donated 50 bags of cements and quantum of sand in the ongoing construction of the Aberdeen Community School.
The construction of eight classrooms storey building, fencing, pavement, and renovation of other dilapidated structures within the Aberdeen Community School premise is undertaken by Hon. Mohamed Sheriff Rahman-Coker of Constituency 131.
Atlantic Lumley Hotel, Human Resource Manager, Lonnel Saied Kargbo while presenting the items to the honourable said education is the flagship program of President Bio therefor they saw the need to support it.
He said the hotel saw the need as a means for them to give a swift hand to donate quantum of sand and 50 bags cements.
“We are so moved towards your project and I think this will benefit the future generation as everybody in this community is yearning for such project.”
Mr Kargbo reflected on their first donation of bags and other school items to that school and when the honourable came with the idea for the school project they welcome it.
Atlantic Lumley Hotel is established within the Aberdeen/ Lumley axis.
Atlantic Lumley Hotel Administration Manager, Abdul Chuku Mansaray said they always ready to adhere to their CSR.
He disclosed that they have been working on their community development action plan and they will continue to do so.
He assured the honourable that this is not the ending of their donation as they will continue their support to join the vision of the honourable for the project to become reality.
In his words after receiving the items, Hon. Mohamed Sheriff Rahman-Coker thanked the hotel for their timely support.
He disclosed that the project which started in September 2020 will last for one year September 2021 and it is self-funded by him.
“We want to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the hotel. The 8 classrooms building fencing, renovation and pavement of the school premises will cost Le 108 billion. We really appreciate it, we hope that this will continue”.
The Principal of the Junior Secondary School, Manso Samura thanked the hotel for their support. He said it was a very beautiful initiative.
“We know what it means, it is a laudable venture and we hope other hotels will copy your good example”
He ended by saying if they partners they will do the work together and very fast.
