Senior national football team of South Africa Bafana Bafana this past Saturday 24 September humiliated Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, 4-0 in friendly encounter in South Africa.
Before the match the two have met four times drawing 3 matches and one victory in favor of Leone Stars.
In Saturday’s match, Bafana Bafana thrashed Leone Stars 4-0. South Africa scored one goal in the first half and three goals in the second half bringing the total result to 4-0.
The above victory was the first ever victory recorded by South Africa against Sierra Leone.
What puzzled the fans in Sierra Leone is that even before the match, the South African Journalists and fans were not with the confidence that the team will win as according to them the form of Bafana Bafana has dropped.
With this in mind, to see South Africa defeating Leone Stars with such goal margin was a surprise to most fans in Sierra Leone.
Before the friendly match the head coach said that they were not too curious about victory but the fact is the match was played on a FIFA calendar date and it will tell on the rankings of both teams.
Leone Stars will be travelling to DR Congo to engage DR Congo senior national team in their next friendly match.
