The Sierra Leone Premier League champion trophy is almost in the hands of the defending champions and the present league leaders Bo Rangers. The Rangers have 63 points in 27 matches played, unbeaten with 34 goals in favor and 10 goals against. They are leading Blackpool in second position with 12 points different. Blackpool is leading FC Kallon and East End Lions in third and 4th position with 1 point.
According to statistics, Bo Rangers only need to win three matches in the remaining seven matches to retain the champion trophy. According to the CEO of the club Babadi Kamara they are not only targeting wining the league but to also set record of winning the league with unbeaten record.
As it stands now the second position (Runner-Up trophy), three top clubs are fighting to grab in the league. The three top clubs are Mighty Blackpool presently in 2nd position with 51 points, FC Kallon with 50 points in 3rd position leading Lions on goals different but with the same points. In the weekend fixtures East End Lions will today battle with FC Johansen at the Trade Center field. A victory for Lions will take them to 2nd position 2 points above Blackpool. In the other matches today, Old Edwardians will host Diamond Stars at the Parade field while Freetonian FC will host Wusum Stars at Angola Field. On Saturday the league will continue with Ports Authority hosting Bai Bureh Warriors at the Attouga field, Wilberforce Strikers will host Luawa FC at the Parade field and East End Tigers will host the league leaders Bo Rangers at the Trade Center field. On Sunday Mighty Blackpool will host FC Kallon in a tight contest for the 2nd position in the league. Sources from the Blackpool camp stated that Blackpool players will receive Le30M (old leones) or Le30,000 (new Leones) as winning bonus.
