Following Press Report about billions of Government Revenue that were missing at ECOBank Sierra Leone, the Marketting and Communication Department of the Bank has confirmed that huge sums of government revenue are missing at the Bank.
The department further stated that indeed some of their staff are being questioned by the CrimInal Investigation Department while some are on the run.
Investigation revealed that the amount missing is revenue generated by government through the National Revenue Authority but staff with the ECOBank in connivance with officials at NRA will transfer money sent to the their account in the bank and send it to other accounts in the banks and some other banks in the country.
This has worried some senior staff at the National Revenue Authority and some members of staff of ECO Bank and other commercial banks in the country.
It is believed that the matter has also reached the Bank of Sierra Leone and for which the new MD of ECOBank has asked to institute serious investigation.
Meanwhile other senior members of NRA are also calling on the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to institute and investigation into the matter.
