FREETOWN, Sep 20 (SALONE TIMES) – Bo Rangers were at the top of the premier league when the premier league board stopped the league due to the COVID-19 restriction.

When the third wave of the COVID-19 heat the world few weeks back, the government of Sierra Leone announced some restrictions to prevent the spread of the disease.

Among the restrictions, the government allowed the league to go on but under close door but the premier league clubs said they will not play under such condition as they greatly depend on gate takings to run the clubs.

Due to the above, the premier board decided to stop the league until normalcy returns.

Few days ago, the authority in charge of COVID-19 control NACOVERC finally agreed to let the league resume with fans wearing face mask, wash hands and must have taking at least one dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The league resumed over the weekend with the league leaders Bo Rangers winning their first match 2-0 against East End Tigers FC.

The winning maintained them at the top of the league with 21 points in 10 matches played. Before the kick-off of the league, the management of Bo Rangers signed contract with a Swedish coach as the head coach of the team.

 The Rangers are leading the league, in second position are Central Parade FC with 3 points with one match played. In lieu of their position and their strength, the fans have appealed to the players to go all out to win the two rounds league.

The winning will be the first time for Bo Rangers to be crowned as premier league champions. The league will continue today with FC Johansen hosting Anti-Drugs FC at the Siaka Steven Stadium.

On Friday FC Kallon will host RSLAF FC at the Siaka Steven Stadium.
