Sierra Leone Chief Minister, Dr. David Sengeh has called on Sierra Leoneans to join President Julius Maada Bio development drive.
Dr. David Sengeh who was on AYV television “Wake Up Salone” program past Friday 11th August 2023, admitted that problems exit in the country but emphasized that there is an urgent need to fix them.
He called on Sierra Leoneans outside the country to return home and help to fix the problems, noting that the issues require collective efforts in addressing them.
“The country can only be developed when there is peace and unity among Sierra Leoneans” he said.
He reiterated that the country can only achieve peace through dialogue. He further called on Sierra Leoneans especially the opposition to join the government in order to achieve the medium term goal of 2035 which will help Sierra Leone to be a middle income country.
He urged the youth to engage in entrepreneurship programs adding that this will help to alleviate poverty in the country.
“It will also help government in revenue generation” he noted.
The Chief Minister disclosed that decentralization is important in developing a country noting that the local government Minister has the expertise and will develop policies for decentralization processes of government activities.
He urged everyone to pay their taxes and government will use the money to develop the country.
He called on the ministers to deliver on their mandate and maintain the gains made in the past in order to deliver for the people of Sierra Leone. He urged them to stay out of corruption and work for the interest of the nation.
He further that he will help the presidency to develop policies and coordinate the affairs of the government.
