The board of the Sierra Leone Premier League few days ago published press release that they have banned the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Football Association for matches and fined him Le5M. According to the press release, Chris Kamara misbehaved and attacked the match officials during a premier league match between Bo Rangers and FC Johansen. The report against Chris indicated that he approached the match officials and started insulting and threatening them together with some supporters of FC Johansen. The release went on that Chris and the supporters attempted even to follow the officials to the dressing room. The release further stated that Ibrahim Mansary one of the referees was hit by the FC Johansen supporters led by Chris Kamara as a result Mansaray sustained injury on his left eye. Their conduct according to the board contravenes Article 46.1 of the premier league rules and regulations. The above article prohibits anyone from insulting or using offensive gestures or language against someone. The committee cited that several articles in the premier league rules and regulation support the banning and fining of Chris Kamara. But in response Chris said he was using the appropriate structures in the game on the ruling. He maintained that they are judicial bodies elected by the FA who should look into such matters. The ban will prevent Chris from attending 4 FC Johansen matches. Chris though have the chance to appeal or pay the fine and serve the four match ban.
