Giants of Bay Marching into the Next Knock-out Stage.

The COFA Inter-Community League first knock-out stage continued this past Thursday 23 November  with Kroo Bay knocking out Fire Burn 2-1 to reach the second knock-out stage.

Kroo Bay opened the goal scoring in the first half and maintained the 1—0 lead onto the end of the first half.

Half way into the second half the Giants of Bay score the second goal, which was their security goal in the match.

 Fifteen minute to the end of the second half Fire Burn scored the consolation goal and press for an equalizer but the Kroo Bay defense never gave them the chance to score again.

 The match ended 2-1 in favor of Kroo Bay at the full time of play. The 2-1 result led Kroo Bay to qualify to the next knock-out stage of the league while Fire Burn went out of the league.

 The above league is the second edition of the President Bio’s trophy sponsored by Mohamed Gento Kamara.

On the first day of the first knock-out stage Aberdeen defeated Bambra Town on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw at full time. Bambra Tong now hope to be among the first four best losers to qualify to the next knock-out stage. On the second day Kissy defeated Soja Tong 1-0, on the third day the defending champions Kroo Town Rangers was forced to 1-1 draw by Wellington Community. The two teams went into penalty kicks with both teams scoring all five penalty kicks.

The kicks were stopped due to bad weather but the organizers will decide today whether the penalty kicks will continue or whether the two teams will qualify to the next stage.

On the other day Summer City defeated Hill Side 1-0. In today’s match Sumaila City will host will Fourah Bay community at the Parade field, Circular Road in Freetown.
