The Commonwealth Games Changer Beach cleaning exercise organized by the Commonwealth Games Association in Sierra Leone ended on Sunday 12th March at the Lumley beach.
The above cleaning exercise was launched on Thursday 9th March 2023 at the Lumley beach by Professor Foday Jaward Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
The cleaning which kicked-off on Friday was done by athletes from the various Olympic Sports in Sierra Leone. The launching ceremony was graced by the Environment Minister, the president of the Commonwealth Games Association in Sierra Leone Prince Vandy Sualley, Permanent Secretary of Sports, Director of Sports, and NSA representative, representatives from the Army, EPA and presidents of the Olympic Sports in Sierra Leone.
The final day of the cleaning on Sunday was climaxed with Sports jamboree involving performance of the Beach Volleyball, Beach Handball, Tec ball and several other sports. At the end of the Sports jamboree certificates were giving to the various participants with statements done by the Commonwealth Games Association president and several other speakers from different institutions.
