FREETOWN, Oct. 11 (SALONE TIMES) – The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Sierra Leone Cricket Association Philip Amara has outlined plans to develop the game and to bring back peace among members. Few months back, the Cricket members elected new Board members to run the affairs of the game.
During the elections, the stakeholders elected the former CEO Francis Samura as the new Board Chairman, Martin Michael was maintained as the Deputy Chairman, Gabriel Anthony was elected as the new Technical Director, Emmanuel Pessima as the new Director of Development and Elizabeth French maintained as the Director of Female Cricket.
The new board in return advertised some of the positions in the Cricket administration. In lieu of the above, Philip Amara applied for the post of CEO together with other candidates both at home and abroad.
Philip was fortunate among the lot to be the successful candidate to be awarded the job. Talking to SALONE TIMES Sports, he said his immediate plans are to bring peace among the members after the elections.
He also talked on how to cater for sponsorship for the association. He outlined the need for good playing grounds so that Sierra Leone will host nations.
On Peace Building, he said he wants the association to organize a peace retreat which will involve all the stakeholder and every one will peacefully speak out his mind.
He went on that after the election, it was pronounced that Cricket won and there was no loser, still people are with different mindset for the outcome of the election based on the postings he is seeing in the association’s WhatsApp forums.
The CEO said he will be doing this with the approval of the board and all Cricket members. Philip said he wants all to come on board to develop the game.
