Cricket Sierra Leone delegates on Saturday 31st March 2024 at their Annual General Meeting held at the Sierra Leone Police Wives Multi-purpose hall in Kingtom, unanimously agreed to form an ethics committee. The committee was formed immediately after the Chairman in his statement stated that few members of Cricket Sierra Leone have taken the Chairman and the board members to court. He went on that the few members attempted to let the court stop the AGM but they did not meet the criteria to do so. Steven Keifala a Director at NSA advised the members to form an ethics committee to be now looking into all conflicts matters than to allow them going to court. Keifala went on that the NSA Board have long since advised all sports members to stop taking sports conflicts to court. As such he said they should now form an ethics committee which will involve members among them and they should be people who do understand the rules of the sports. The delegates unanimously agreed to nominate members from among them to form the committee. They nominated 6 members to vote for five of them to form the committee. But at the end of the election they ended up approving all six members to be in the committee. The elected committee members were Francis Alpha who got 45 votes, Tony Morrison 38 votes, Morrison Kuyateh , Dauda Conteh 47 votes, Musu S. Koroma 32 votes and Hawa Turay 40 votes. The delegates also admitted new members into the association. Among the new members were two associations and two new clubs. The new members were the Coaches Association, Players Association China Town CC and Metro Stars CC. An issue also came up on the behavior of Kent Cricket Club officials of which the Chairman raised the motion to ban the club. But some members said hence a committee is now formed to look into issues like that they should allow the committee to investigate the matter. Notwithstanding, the Chairman told them that it is spelt out clearly in the constitution that such behavior is tantamount to a ban. He went on that the congress is the biggest and they have the mandate to take any decision that could bring development into the game. Also in his statement earlier he told the members that the meeting which was to take place last year was delayed because they were waiting for their financial auditing to be completed. At the end they all agreed to ban Kent Cricket Club from all activities of Cricket Sierra Leone. The officials they said have the right to join other clubs in Cricket Sierra Leone. Also in the congress the financial statement was read by Alim Cawray the General Manager of Cricket Sierra Leone and the minutes of the past congress and the review and adoption of the Agenda read by the Company Secretary Franklyn R. Conteh ESQ. It was also agreed in the congress to let the adoption of the financial report later be done in a general meeting because of time.
