FREETOWN, Nov. 15 (SALONE TIMES) – Sierra Leone premier league continued on Friday with relegation threaten Diamond Stars defeating FC Kallon 0-1 to bounce out of the relegation zone.
Before the match on paper, FC Kallon in third position in the league table was the favorite to win the match. But the tempo of the match changed in the 35th minute of the match when Diamond midfielder Mohamed Kabba make use of the FC Kallon defensive blunder and send the ball into the back of the net. The diamond Boys from Kono maintained the 1-0 lead until the end of the first half.
Back into the second half both teams brought in series of flesh legs into the game. But the changes never created dividend for the host FC Kallon but gave more zeal to the visitors to defend their one goal lead while on the break they do look for more.
FC Kallon later brought in all their top stars that were on the sub-bench but it was too late for them to even score an equalizing goal.
After the match the FC Kallon fans barricade the dressing gate blasting for their technical team whom they said their overconfidence led them to lose the match.
They claimed the technical team leaves the better players on the bench only to bring them later when there was not much time to even score equalizing goal and share the points.
A win in the above match which was their last match in the first round would have maintained the Kallon Boys in the 3rd position with 2 points between them and the league leaders and a point between them and the second place in the league table.
But as it is now, the league leaders East End Lions and the second place Bo Rangers still have one more match each to play and if they win their matches, they will lead FC Kallon with 8 and7 points respectively in the league table.
Also, in the league table Wusum Stars in 4th with the same point with FC Kallon have one more match to play and if they win they will overtake FC Kallon in the 3rd position.
