FREETOWN, July 14 (232News) – The Anglican Diocese of Freetown Diocese Men’s Union (DMU) over the weekend launched the DMU Rites of induction for admission of new members, induction of branch executive and diocesan Men’s Union executive booklet at the Cathedral House in Freetown.
Launching the booklet Ekundayo Emmanuel Robert Rowe expressed joy to be part of such gathering for the progress the Union is making.
He went on to say that he was happy that DMU now have a document that is accepted throughout the Anglican Churches in Sierra Leone.
He called on each and every member to buy a copy as he said it high time they had unification in their services.
“We now have a document each and every one of us must meditate on it day and night.”
The acting President of DMU Gerald J. Perry said that day marked the beginning in the history of the Anglican Diocese Men’s Union in the Diocese of Freetown.
He described the move as a legacy his administration will leave behind for their children and children yet unborn.
This is one of the legacies of founding member, the late brother Canon Nat Stanley, to bring the Anglican Diocese Men’s Union induction to a standard one. Indeed, today I am a proud acting President of the Anglican Diocese Men’s Union to have these rites of induction for admission of new members, induction of branch executive and diocesan Men’s Union executive to be used for all branches thanksgiving service.
He thanked the executive for their support in making that dream a reality and also the Anglican Bishop for giving the green light for the rites of induction to be used by the Anglican Diocese Men’s Union.
Declaration of purpose was done by Bro. Ralph Wilson.
