FREETOWN, July 25 (SALONE TIMES) – Dr. Alpha T. Wurrie, the Minister of Higher and Technical Education donated over 70 computers to Fourah Bay College (FBC).
He made the announcement during the commissioning ceremony of Tunde Cole ultramodern smart building on FBC campus on the 18th July, 2022.
The Minister said a donor partner donated 520 computers to his Ministry and he will ensure that FBC gets 70 to 80 computers. The Minister also added that Tertiary Institutions are going to be inundated starting from this academic year and therefore Tunde Cole smart building is a step in the transformative education drive where one can talk about interactive lecture hall/visual learning.
‘’With this facility, we can now outreach so many people’’, he said. He further added that come September, lecturers will be employed because the number of enrolment is going to increase.
The Minister continued that students with 3, 4 or 5 credits in West Africa Senior Secondary School Examination will now access Government Institutions either Technical University or a University.
Dr Wurrie concluded that human capital development is important for human empowerment that would transform Sierra Leone.
