The Paralympic Team On Their Way Back Home

FREETOWN, Sep 6 (SALONE TIMES) – The President of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone Dr Patrick Coker has in a telephone call congratulated Juan Jackson and the rest of the Paralympic athletes for what he described as a successful representation.

Dr. Coker noted his satisfaction over the performance of the athletes even though they did not win medals. As he put it, “Olympism is not all about winning medals but for athletes to show case their talents and also project their countries’.

 Dr Coker noted that the athletes with disabilities brought joy and honor to the nation. He noted that the NOC included Para Sports in their programs in other to give an opportunity for people living with disabilities to practiced sports, which has today let to the great show of the athletes in the midst of world Stars.

He assured the Paralympic Committee that he will advocate to the International Sports Federations, the government through the NSA for the growth of the Para Sports sector.

The athletes who were much exited to be congratulated by the NOC President promised to remain focus. They also send their warm greetings and appreciation to the President of the Republic and the Government for supporting the team to participate in Tokyo. They promised to improve in future engagements.
