CAF schedule FC Kallon to face AS Douanes from Niger in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds. According to the fixtures, AS Douanes will host FC Kallon in the first match but because of the political tension in Niger but the executive of AS Douanes has appealed to the FC Kallon executive to allow them play their home match in Sierra Leone against FC Kallon.
The Niger Boys will engage FC Kallon on the 27th August 2023 at the South Arena stadium in Bo. The Douanes delegation will arrive in Bo few days before the match to host FC Kallon.
While in Bo, the management of Douanes will meet with the management of the Southern Arena to negotiate the cost involve for using the stadium on that day.
Four days after the first match FC Kallon will host AS Douanes at the same stadium in Bo. FC Kallon will also be in Bo from Freetown before the date to continue training at the ground and get use to the pitch.
For the moment, FC Kallon team is in Freetown training at their home ground at Angola in Freetown. They too choose to host the Niger team in Bo because their home ground is not up to FIFA standard to host any CAF or FIFA international matches. According to source, FC Kallon have strengthened their team with few on loan players for the CAF Confederation Cup. According to news from Niger, the technical team said they will miss the support of their fans at home but they said that can’t kill the spirit of the players in the competition. On the side of FC Kallon, they will get the full support of their fans in both matches in Bo. The technical team of FC Kallon has assured their fans and the entire Sierra Leoneans that they will make use of the home advantage to fly the flag of Sierra Leone high in the two matches.
