East End Lions FC was forced to a goalless draw at home on Thursday when they host Old Edwardians FC at the Trade Centre field. The above result did not go down well with their fans and it was not also the results the executive was looking for.

A victory for Lions in that particular match would have taking them to the top of the league table by 1 point until after the matches of the other title contenders.

Among the 18 premier league clubs, Lions have top star players in the country than any other club. But how to play as a team and win matches is their greatest problem. According to the fans, the problem is with the coach who they claimed hasn’t got the technical knowledge to train the players to play as a team and score goals.

Lions is among few clubs that have the highest possession during matches played but their finishing still remains poor. After their match against Old Edwardians, the fans took over the pitch with a protest song that their head Francis Zapa Koroma must go.

According to sources from the team, the executive and board members met on Friday over the issue but onto the time of going to the press there was no official statement from them on what they have decided after the meeting.

But a close source from the executive stated that they have decided to give three matches ultimatum to coach Zapa of which if he fails to win the three matches, he will be fired. Coach Zapa has not lost any match since he took over as Lions head coach but the team has drawn five matches and they have won only three matches.

East End Lions after their last match were in 3rd position with 14 points out of 8 matches played with 7 goals in favor and 3 goals against. They were 3 points behind the league leaders Bo Rangers before Rangers played against Kamboi Eagles in Kenema yesterday Sunday 15 January.
