FREETOWN, Oct. 28. (232News) – Sierra Leone leading mobile company, Africell, has partnered with Satina the authorized agent for Samsung smartphone to give free data for any new Samsung smartphone one buys.
The lunched which took place on Friday 8th October at the Africell American Corner, Bathurst Street, Freetown has been described as one of the best service the company is offering.
Chairman of the ceremony, Africell head of Event and Sponsorship Abdul Aziz Kamara described Africell as the leader of data in Sierra Leone. He recalled that the first signing the company’s made was with Tecno which he said is a sign that Africell always delivers when it comes to corporate social responsibility.
Joseph Gbandia, Africell Head of Section, Product and Services, described Africell as a company that is here to stay and always ready to give their best to their lovely subscribers.
Joseph Gbandia went on to say Africell wants to reach everyone that is using smartphone and they know smartphone is gaining momentum through that they want to give their best to their subscribers.
According to him, subscribers will not enjoy smartphone without data and as a result, Africell decides to partners with Satina to give free data to their subscribers that buy Samsung phone as their aim is to certified their customers.
Joe Abass Bangura, Africell Chief Corporate Affairs Officer pointed out that the free data that will be giving to an africell subscriber are those that will buy Samsung smartphone from Satina as the authorized dealer in the country.
Joe Abass went on to speak about the quality of life which has grown in this current generation as compared to the previous once, pointing out that, people gradually developed the ability from feature phone to smartphone.
“Despite the advancement of Smartphone there are people that are still using feature phone and africell still has service for them. If we are now moving to the smartphone era, we want to make it easy for you because data is power”.
He thanked Satina for such partnership.
The promotion which took effect on the day of the launched will give free data between 3 to 6 months depending on the quality of Samsung phone you buy.
Joe Abass placed the free data into four (4) levels based on the quality of phone such as entry level will get 1GB for 3 months, mid rang level will get 2GB for 3 months, high level will get 3 GB for 3 months and the highest level of smartphone will get 3GB for 6 months.
He explained that if one has already subscribed to africell, one just needs to swap ones africell SIM to the new phone and give the dealer their number for the data to be transferred to that number but if one is a new subscriber, the dealer will give one free register SIM card. He disclosed that to activate the service one has to send an SMS to a short code 2288.
He emphasized that with the SIM card one will activate the service which will not be remove until the service ends.
“We owe it to ourselves to grow in our generation. Data will help you with just the ability. We are getting better and Africell wants to make sure that we go along with our subscribers.”
He emphasized that the aspiration of a very country is to be able to develop to a middle income country by moving people from poverty.
He further stated that Africell wants to build the next middle class in Sierra Leone as smartphone for this generation is not just about making calls but use as computer.
Joe Abass announced additional bonus if someone requests for a special number subject to availability that person will get.
