Giants of Bay FC on Sunday defeated Hill Side FC 4-1 which took Bay to lead group D followed by Fourah Bay in second position. Fourah Bay community defeated HADA FC representing Tower Hill 1-0 on Saturday at the same venue.
Coincidentally, last season Hill Side in their first match in the group lost to Kroo Town Rangers 4-0. But the coach of the Hill Side Boys said they are going back home to amend what went wrong.
He went on that they are going to strengthen their team with some of their players who were absent in Sundays match. In the group of five communities, two teams will qualify to the group of 16 teams for the battle to quarter-final stage.
The Hill Side coach have though assured his fans that all is not lost yet and said they are going to fight back to qualify. Hill Side will face HADA FC in a match of two equals on the 12th September 2023.
Both teams will be fighting on that day to get their first victory in the league. From the same group on the 11th September Blackhall Road will knock horns with Fourah Bay. Kroo Bay will until 27th September battle with Fourah Bay.
The battle for the President Bio’s trophy second edition will continue today with Central FC engaging Luawa FC in a tough encounter. On Wednesday Moa Wharf community will face Kingtom at the same venue.
