FREETOWN, Mar. 04 (SALONE TIMES) – In their 100 years celebration a former pupil of the St. Edwards Secondary School Hon. Chrenoh Bah Esq on Sunday dedicated a multi-purpose Secretarial building for the School. In his statement Hon. Cherenoh Bah who funded the construction of the building in the school compound said the building was built in honor of the school’s first principal A.J. Robison for his exemplary service, commitment and dedication to the school. The secretariat, he said will be used by the Old Boys association executive and the school’s football club Old Edwardians FC. He promised to later construct a garden in front of the building where they will sit down and interact at their leisure times. The occasion was graced by both old pupils from the diaspora and those in Sierra Leone. Hon Bah did the symbolic cutting of the tape on the door of the building and handed over the keys of the building to the president of the Old Boys Association Ismail Sherriff. Before the opening of the building, the officiating Rev. Father of the Catholic Church in the school compound prayed and dedicated the building to God.
In his statement the Priest said Catholics have no religious barrier neither have they a tribe barrier, a reason he said today they are seeing an old Muslim pupil of the school building a house for a Catholic school. After the dedication ceremony the school continued with their 100 years celebration with football gala matches between the old pupils from UK and the old pupils in Sierra Leone. The second match was between the old pupils from USA and the school teachers. The building of a Secretariat block was a big relief for the school premier club as that was one of the requirements for all premier league clubs according to Bamoi declaration few years back.
