The Chiefdom Council of Kambia District held a day meeting in the District, to understand and appreciate the work the district council has been embarking on in the area of development in the district.
Members of the Chiefdom Council, civil society organizations, and other local stakeholders including the media were part of the engagement where their expressed their appreciation and subsequent discussion held thereafter.
This came following a social media post by one civil society activist, accusing the Council Chief Administrator, Dr. Edward Alpha and representatives from the Local Government Ministry of alleged corruption.
The Paramount Chief of Magbehma Chiefdom who doubles as the PC MP of Parliamentary representative in Parliament Kambia district debunk claims that the council has been working hard to ensure that Kambia district is develope.
He furthered stated that since the inception of the council Chief administrator Dr. Edward Alpha rapid development has been implemented by the council and that of other government institutions in the district.
He noted that the council achieved a fully integrated development in education, roads, rehabilitation of schools and construction of markets, health services, cleaning exercise, and more.
Dr. Edward Alpha expressed his happiness and satisfaction over the statement made by both paramount chiefs in the district as acknowledgement of all the outstanding achievements the district has achieved in the district.
All paramount chiefs and stakeholders expressed their willingness to cooperate and support the Kambia district Council,as the Kambia district council as the council under the leadership of Dr. Edward Alpha has done so much in the previous year compared to other chief administrator.
One of the paramount chiefs spoke of the chief administrator positive relationship with traditional leaders and the people of Kambia district council and requested that the council gives them all necessary support and protect their investments which will encourage the people to continue paying their taxes in the district.
The chief administrator of the district council promised to update the chiefdom authorities and people of Kambia district on the satisfactory outcome of the project and development the council is embarking on.
