The South African-born hired coach Kenneth Masinga was hired by the Sierra Leone Cricket Association to help develop Cricket in Sierra Leone.

With his short stay in the country, Kenneth has done visibility studies on both male and female players. Kenneth said there are so many raw materials in Sierra Leone and that all they need is high-performance training.

Kenneth who is also an expert in grooming young players from the schools is targeting to groom more young players for the future national teams.

Having watched the ladies’ performance in the ongoing Women’s tournament in Nigeria, he said the ladies need to play aggressively if they are to win matches.

He went on that the batters need to be comfortable with spin bowlers. The task of Masinga is to also coach the local coaches on the latest skills in the game.

Very recently, he organized a workshop for the local coaches on how to train players to play good Cricket. In the workshop, he told the local coaches that to let the players be serious on him or her training, he or she should not be aquatinted with the members of the selection committee.
