Independent investigations into the shooting incident that took place on New Year’s Day outside Scarlett Night Club at Aberdeen in Freetown show that Police investigators have no case against Omar Sheriff, the Norwegian/Turkish mining investor.
According to preliminary Police investigations, Omar Sheriff is considered a victim after he was assaulted at the scene of the incident.
Senior Police investigators briefed newsmen that the alleged shooter of Hussein Fawaz is not a bodyguard to Omar Sheriff. He has been identified as a businessman involved in mining.
Mr. Omar Sheriff is in Sierra Leone to invest in the mining sector thus creating jobs for young people and supporting economic growth. Mr. Sheriff has a vast portfolio of investments in other West African countries.
An elderly member of the Fawaz family in Freetown has disclosed that the family intends to settle the matter out-of-court since Hussein has successfully undergone a surgical procedure in a Beirut Hospital in Lebanon.
It could be recalled that Abubakar (the alleged shooter) also suffered severe injuries in his head after Hussein allegedly hit him with a glass.
Meanwhile, Mr. Omar Sheriff has expressed interest in property development and charity work in Sierra Leone.
Police investigations continues.
