The Minister of Land’s Housing and Country Planning Dr. Turad Senessie has said that the Director of Budget at the Ministry Of Finance Tasima Jah wants to blackmail the ministry over NLe 22m which was given for the Ministry of Defence.
He explained that they only used the ministry of Lands, housing and country planning for the Ministry of Defence to get the money.
This came about during question time when Tasima Jah asked about the NLE 22M that was given to the ministry of Lands, Housing and Country planning.
Dr. Senessie pointed out that the ministry wants 30% revenue generation from the Ministry of Finance because the ministry has generated over Nle 100m from state land aso in 2023.
He highlighted that the deliverables for 2024 which is in line with the big five are recruitment of at least 50 staff, job creation for young graduates like interns, digitalization of all land records, develop online interactive platforms for processing land documents.
According to him, Lungi is going to be new city with the construction of the new bridge to connect the people and its environs.
He said that the TAF global agreement has been passed in parliament for the construction of 5,000 affordable housing for citizens in Sierra Leone.
