FREETOWN – Senior National Football team of Sierra Leone, Leone Stars travelled to Bo city on Sunday to camp there till their time of departure to Nigeria next month.
Leone Stars will face Super Eagles, the senior national football team of Nigeria on November 9 2020 in Nigeria.
Few days ago, the team was in Mauritania and Niger where they played two friendly matches.
In the two friendly matches Leone lost to Mauritania 2-1 and lost to Niger by 1-0.
Base on the above results, the technical team believes they still have certain positions to work on.
Besides, the team played the two friendly matches without most of the invited foreign base players who will be available to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
But even with that, the technical team will need some home base players of which some will be starting players and some on the standby incase an invited players fails to turn up for the Nigeria match.
The invited foreign base players according to source will join the team in Nigeria.
An official of the team told SALONE TIMES Sports that they chose Bo to take the players off from the social activities in Freetown and because the match will not be taking place on an artificial turf field.
He went on that after the match in Nigeria, the team will camp in Freetown and start to train at the Siaka Steven Stadium. Leone Stars will host the group leaders in Freetown few days after the match in Nigeria.
