FREETOWN – The Sierra Leone Senior national male football team Leone Stars travelled to Mauritania on Wednesday to take on the Mauritania senior male team at the national stadium in Nouakchott today. The team departed with a 42 Man delegation headed by the Sports Minister Ibrahim Nyelenkeh. Among the 42 were 19 home based players, 6 foreign based players and 16 officials. After the friendly match today the team will head to Niger for another friendly match schedule to take place on Tuesday 13th October 2020. The two friendly matches are part of the preparation for the encounter against Nigeria home and away in the CAF Nations Cup qualifying matches. According to news from the team camp in Mauritania some of the foreign base players failed to show up due to their busy schedule in their various clubs but the technical team was sure they will turn up for the two matches against Nigeria.
