Mano River Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Peace at Conakry Summit

At the conclusion of a high-level Tripartite Summit on border issues held in Conakry yesterday, the Heads of State of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia reaffirmed their strong commitment to maintaining peace and stability along their shared borders.
Presidents Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, Mamady Doumbouya of Guinea, and Joseph Boakai of Liberia met to address recent border tensions and strengthen cooperation among their countries. The leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law in resolving disputes.
They also underscored the need to enhance security collaboration and promote good neighbourly relations as part of broader efforts to safeguard regional stability.
As a key outcome of the meeting, the three leaders agreed to convene a Mano River Union summit within one month to further advance cooperation on peace, security, and development across the region.
The summit marks a significant step forward in reinforcing unity and fostering lasting peace within the Mano River region.
