FREETOWN, Oct 3 (232News) – The incumbent Chairman for the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the Western Region, Hon. Manso A. Dumbuya aka Top Up has officially declared for a second and final term.
He made this declaration at a well-attended gathering of all constituencies and districts delegates of Western Area on Sunday 19th September 2021 at John James Complex, Up Gun.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the ceremony Rev. Hindolo S. Butcher said unity has brought them together and called on his audience to continue to unite and forget the past.
Rev. Butcher also appealed for open door policy for those who do not have job and discouraged the use of abusive language which he said is not part of the SLPP.
“Hon. Manso Dumbuya don’t want abusive language, when you are campaigning for him,” he affirmed.
He called on all to pay attention on Hon. Manso Dumbuya whom he said has suffered a lot for the party.
He advised that they should not have indifference among themselves for the want of positions, noting that the SLPP is a party of unity and should not allow internal conflict to set them apart.
In his declaration speech, Hon. Manso A. Dumbuya thanked and congratulated everyone present and described them as the pillar of the SLPP for the next 3 years and more.
Hon. Dumbuya called on his people to continue believing in him, adding that history has shown how loyal he is to the SLPP and that he will continue to do so till death.
He spoke about the trying times he went through for the SLPP and how determined he was prior to taking over of power by the SLPP.
Statements from Western Region District Chairmen endorsed Hon. Manso A. Dumbuya for a second term and the Eastern Urban District Chairman, John Gbondo Margai also endorsed him.
The 5 districts in the Western Area openly declared for Hon. Manso A. Dumbuya including the 12 Members of Parliament of SLPP in the Western Area and several other endorsements were made.
During the profiling of Hon. Dumbuya by Alpha Saidu Bangura, he described him as the man who stood with the SLPP and helped them secured 12 Parliamentary seats in the Western Area with 40% votes.
