FREETOWN – As part of her drive in demonstrating love and care for all, Sierra Leone’s finest Cultural Ambassador to China and Africa, the “Black Pearl and former Miss World Mariatu Kargbo spent days with Shanxi Province to mark this year’s World AIDS Day.
Maria popularly called the Ambassador of Love visited Linfen Red Silk Ribbon School in Shanxi Province as part of her series of theme activities in that region.
Her visit which is guided by the China STD and AIDS Association and sponsored by the China Children’s Association and the China Youth and Love Engineering Office.
Kang Hui, the host of the CCTV program and ambassador of the Qingai Project, donated the first “Qingai Cabin” in Shanxi Province to the school.
Maria, a singer and Love Ambassador from Africa, had a good time with her children, teaching them English and blowing saxophone.
Maria said: “We have different skin colors, we come from different countries, but the love is the same.”
She added that in the future, it is hoped that more international loving people will join the Youth Love Project to pass on the education of youth love to all parts of the world.
This “always together” public welfare activities, Qingai Project in addition to donating Qingai Cabin for Red Ribbon School, but also donated a total of more than 560000 yuan in donations and materials to the school.
Maria thanked the Youth Eyre Education Foundation and other units and leaders, and thanked all people for caring for AIDS children.
