FREETOWN, Nov. 9 (SALONE TIMES) – The 2nd edition of President Bio’s trophy will kick-start on the 27th November 2021 at the Siaka Steven Stadium. The opening match will see Mountain City engaging Leicester City. In this year’s competition 96 teams have been registered nationwide to take part in 2nd edition of the President Bio’s trophy. Among the 96 teams 32 teams are from the Western Area, 16 from the Eastern region, 16 from the south, 16 from the North and 16 from the North-West region. According to the organizers the competition will be played on knock-out basis. In this case if the game ends in a draw results the two teams will go into penalty kicks to decide the winner. The opening match has been described as a battle for supremacy as both teams are eager for victory to stay in the competition. In the competition the Western Area will play to get 4 qualifiers why the four regions will get 3 qualifiers each. In this case the competition will continue with the knock-out stage onto the semi-final stage where in 4 teams will qualify from the western Area and 3 teams each from the four regions. The organizers will draw another fixture for the qualified teams for the next stage of the competition.

According to the coordinator of the President Bio’s trophy David Momoh the above competition is going by the call and the desire of the president to develop the game. The league he said is targeting 1st, 2nd and non-division players and no Premier League player accepted.
