NCP Madam Safura Rogers

FREETOWN, June 14 (SALONE TIMES) – The National Commission for Privatization (NCP)has hailed the management of Nectare Sierra Leone Break Bulk Terminal (NSBT) for the launch of a 13 Million Dollar Berth expansion project at the Sierra Leone Ports Authority, Queen Elizabeth II Quay.

While representing the Chairman and Commissioner, the Executive Secretary of NCP madam Safura Rogers appreciated the Financiers, management of NSBT, Sierra Leone Ports Authority and the Ministry of Transport and Aviation for a job well done and for believing in His Excellency’s call for investment in Sierra Leone.

She explained that the National Commission for Privatization which is responsible for managing the Corporate Governance of SOEs is in full gear to ensuring that the vision of the government is fully actualized, thereby enhancing job creation, economic boom, and efficient delivery of services.

She assured stakeholders present of NCP’s unwavering support to the development of SOEs by creating an enabling environment for business sustainability.

“This achievement will go down as a legacy for all of those who in diverse ways contributed to see this dream come true,” she expressed.

Director of NECTAR GROU GUY WILLIKS started by giving a background of NSBT, noting they are the market leader and specialist in cargo handling with series of ports and terminals across the world.

He explained that NSBT was established in 1972 and it is part of the Monaco Resources Group which includes West Africa Agency Network, Logitech and Port Group, Euro Ports that host 26 Ports in Europe and China.

While dilating on the berth expansion project, the director expressed that it is geared towards creating better conditions, and conducive business climate to attract new investors and industries

“The total investment that NECTAR has committed to this project is 30 Million Dollars approximately 402 Billion Leones” he disclosed

Delivering the keynote address Fisrt Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio expressed her utmost delight for the NSBT Management, citing that they (NSBT) have always supported development projects of the government.

She went on to assure the management of NSBT of government’s support as they are always implementing and supporting projects of the government.
