The new president of NOC Prince Sualley on the 1st February 2023 presented his executive members and heads of new committees formed to the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports. At the NSA office, 145, Wilkinson Road in Freetown Prince said as per protocol they were at the office to officially present the newly elected executive body to the NSA Directors. As he went on that as per the request of IOC to have female executive members they have coopted three female members into their executive. The new executive also outlines their upcoming activities to the NSA Directors. The president explained that they have several qualifying competitions for the Olympic and the Commonwealth Games, the All Africa Games, Beach Games and the youth Olympic Games. In this case he said the NSA is an integral part to what they are doing. As such he said there is need to let the NSA work in partnership with the Olympic Committee.
The Executive Director earlier congratulates them and welcomes the new executive. He went on that such meeting was very important as NOC is one of the most peaceful organizations which he said their last elective congress can testify. In that election he said the delegates unanimously vote Prince Sualley as the NOC President with over 90% of the vote cast. He commend the delegates for making correct decision by electing Prince whom he said have vast experience in Olympic administration. He told them that they are always welcome as their doors are always open for development discussions. The Chairman of the NSA Board David Sengu Woobay also congratulates the new executive. He reminds those who don’t know him that he too was part of them few years back when he became Secretary General of NOC for 18 years. He went on that the election has come and gone and they should now work as one body in the interest of development. The Chairman said he was impressed with the formation of the new committees especially having an ethical and legal committee. At the Sports Ministry the executive was welcome by the Director of Sports and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports Morrison Gboyor as the Minister and the Deputy Minister were absent. The NOC President presents his executive members and heads of committees. He went on to update them about the activities ahead. The president went on that as per protocol they would also like to present the new executive to the President of Sierra Leone HE Julius Maada Bio which he said he would like the Ministry to fast track the meeting with the President. The Permanent Secretary welcomes and congratulates the new executive. He told them that the Minister was in Cabinet meeting and the Deputy Minister was also absent but say he will relay the message to them. The Director of Sports Haroun Korjie said he has no doubt in the new executive as they all have vast experience in sports administration.
