FREETOWN – The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics Games are set to be held in July to September 2021. In this case, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) in Sierra Leone has resolved that the deadline date to register athletes is on the 15th February 2021. The NOC Secretary General Joseph Nyande and the Chef De Mission, Unisa Deen Kargbo held a mini seminar with for Sports Associations that are preparing for the above games at the OlymAfrica Center, Goderich in Freetown.
The essence for the seminar was for the Sports administrators to understand the system involves in the accreditation and wild card of athletes.
The Secretary General and the Chef De Mission also talked the advantage of unity in sports. They emphasized on the issue of Anti-Doping which they said will spoil the career of athletes. Joseph Nyande took time to direct associations on the athlete’s identification partway and called on the coaches to work out programs for this.
He assured them that NOC will strongly work with NSA for the development of the athletes.
