Mid-West players Thinking about way forward after the defeat

FREETOWN, March 15, (SALONE TIMES) – The Sierra Leone Cricket Association ODI Men’s League continued on Friday with Mid-West CC taking on Old Edwardians CC at the Police cricket ovals in Kingtom.

 The above match was termed as a battle between the experience and uprising players. The Old Edwardians team was dominated with retired players while Mid-West were dominated with U-19 players, U-17 players and few senior players.

 Old Edwardians batted first and scored 146 runs all out in 32.5 overs. Mid-West replied with 142 runs all out in 28.4 overs. Old Edwardians won the match by 4 runs.  In the batting of both teams, Edward Ngegba of Mid-West CC the U-19 and Senior team captain scored 48 runs off 40 balls, Usman Sankoh Old Edwardians scored 24 runs off 25 balls while Ibrahim P Kamara scored 24 runs off 32 balls.

 In the bowling Samuel Humper (Old Edwardians) bowled 10.0 overs got one maiden conceived 38 runs and took 3 wickets, Daniel Lansayo (Mid-West) bowled 5.0 overs got 2 maiden conceived 6 runs and took 2 wickets while Mohamed Kamara (Mid-West) bowled 7.0 overs got 1 maiden conceived 16 runs and took 2 wickets. Samuel Humper of Old Edwardians was awarded the Man of the Match award. After the match Mid-West technical team accepted they lost due to careless batting of which they said their batsmen failed to concentrate and focus to the game. According to them, the bowling team did very well forcing the Edwardians to score just 146 in an ODI match which they thought was easy to get the target 147 runs. Notwithstanding they said they are going to take their batsmen back into the net to prepare for their upcoming matches. The captain of Old Edwardians said their victory against Mid-West is a warning shot to the other teams.
