Top Management at the University in Freetown

In line with their tradition, the Limkokwing University is set to host the first ever graduation ceremony for Sierra Leone Campus for over 900 students.

Briefing pressmen on the 3rd February, 2023 at the University Sierra Leone Campus, Hill Station, the Campus Director, Agnes M. Mugo disclosed that a total of 17 programs will be graduating: 11 degrees and 6 diploma, adding that they are graduating 83% of students since they started operating in Sierra Leone.

She went on to say, during the crisis with the government of Sierra Leone some students went to continue their study abroad in their campuses while others dropped out due to personal challenges.  

According to Madam Mugo, a total of 901(584 Degree and 317 Diploma, 6 Faculties, 17 Programmes) students will graduate during this year’s event in the below Faculty breakdown: · Faculty of Information & Communication Technology – (300) students With 4 Programmes, · Faculty of Business Management & Globalization – (156) students With 3 Programmes, · Faculty of Architecture & Built Environment – (131) students With 4 Programmes, · Faculty of Communication, Media and Broadcasting – (202) students With 4 Programmes, · Faculty of Creative Multimedia- (43) students With 1 Programme, and · Faculty of Design and Innovation- (69) students With 2 Programme.

“Graduation events are very special occasions during which creative young professionals are awarded for successfully completing the rigors but ultimately rewarding journey of tertiary education,” Madam Mugo said.

The institution is preparing to host hundreds of students and guests in this first ever graduation ceremony as the head of Marketing and Recruitment, Charity Mackenzie, said they are ready to demonstrates their creative technology skills.

She added that in their graduations, they don’t only celebrate the students but parents as well. 

Head of Faculty, Communication, Media and Broadcasting, Hassan Kamara, pointed out that the University started this journey in 2016 and they are set to be graduating on the 11th of February, 2023, at the Freetown International Conference Center Bintumani Hotel, Aberdeen Freetown after as long distraction.

“From the total number of students graduating during this year’s graduation event, 43 graduates will receive University Recognition for outstanding performances in various areas,” Hassan Kamara stated.

In attendance will be the University Seniors Management, Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, Industry Partners, Foreign Missions and Embassies.
