Wellington-Masiaka Road

Hon Mohamed Bailor Shaw of Falaba district has raised concern over the poor-quality of the Wellington- Misiaka  toll road which the Chinese constructed.

Hon Shaw stood on Standing Order 23 to make his point concerning the road.

He revealed that anybody plying that road will find out that the road is in bad shape with portholes which is not usual for a newly constructed road.

He explained that the condition of the road tells him that something is missing owing to the time the road has been constructed.

He gave examples of the Maisaka-Bo Road which started during late President Kabbah and completed by Former President Koroma,  Misiaka-Makeni road, Roagbere-Kambia  which are still in good order.

Hon Shaw informed journalists that his concern is not because the Chinese constructed the road or the nature of the contract but the quality of the road.

He said that although he is not an Engineer but he believed the road is substandard, noting the tar is been wiped out from the ground

The MP from Falaba went on to say that parliament ratified that agreement for the toll gate because they are taking responsibility for what the previous parliament did, noting that the said increment is in the contract.

He revealed that what is disturbing for him is that he saw the Chinese replacing the tar with cement which for him is not a normal thing.
