According to source from France, the double Olympian Joshua Wyse will be the flag bearer for Sierra Leone tomorrow during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
Joshua represented Sierra Leone in the Olympic Games that was organized in Japan for swimming. Joshua took up the same role in the past All Africa Games during the opening ceremony at the University of Ghana.
He is the most senior athlete among the four athletes that will be representing Sierra Leone in the Olympic Games this year. In the All Africa Games, Joshua did not win medal but improved greatly on his timing.
Joshua and Olarmiday Elizabeth Sam will be resenting Sierra Leone in the 50 Meter Free Style while Georgiana Sesay from athletics will represent Sierra Leone in the 100M event and Mariama Kamara will represent Sierra Leone in the Judo competition.
The four athletes will arrive in France today and will take part in the opening ceremony tomorrow. Joshua before his departure has assured Sierra Leoneans that his target this year is to win medal for Sierra Leone in the Olympic Games.
He went on that he will use the Olympic medal as a motivating factor to win another medal in the upcoming World Swimming and Aquatic championship.
Apart from Joshua, the three female athletes will be also using the Paris Games as part of their preparation for the Junior Olympic Games in Senegal.
