Police CC Champions

FREETOWN, May 27 (SALONE TIMES) – Over the weekend the Sierra Police Cricket Club retained the championship title of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association T20 Premier League. The defending champions were crowned champions of the 2021-22 SLCA T20 Premier league after defeating Asian PRO CC by 10 wickets on Sunday at POW School Oval.

Police won the toss and opted to field allowing the Asians to bat. The Asians were bowled all out for 58 runs in 9.3 overs. The Police team replied with a sounding victory against the Asians by 10 wickets in 7 overs. In the batting Aruna Keinessie scored 44 runs off 29 balls with a score rate of 151.72. For the Asians Mohamed S. Khan scored 28 runs off 18 balls but was not enough for them to beat the defending champions. Yegbeh Jalloh for Police scored 9 runs off 13 balls. Cherenoh Jalloh of Police took the highest wickets in the game, 3 wickets and conceived 12 runs with an economy of 4.80. The defending champions Police won the league with 13 points in 8 matches played. They lost one match to Copper Safe CC and shared points with Mid-West on Saturday due to bad weather. On the same Sunday the runner-up in the league Mid-West defeated Gujarat CC by 105 runs. Mid-West won the toss and opted to bat first scoring 156 runs loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Gujarat replied with 51 runs all out in 14.2 overs. In the batting John Bangura for Mid-West scored 45 runs off 38 runs, George Edward scored 36 runs off 30 runs and Eric Musa all from Mid-West scored 31 runs off 28 balls.
