Deputy Majority Whip 2 Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh of Western Area Urban has said that it is the politicians who are forcing public servants to become politicians.
Hon Conteh made this statement on Friday August 18th 2023 while contributing to Presidential address delivered by His Excellency on August 3rd 2023 at the Chamber of parliament, Tower Hill in Freetown.
He explained that because they did not belong to certain political parties the public servants either undermine or support the government.
He went on to say that the President stated that he is going to transform the public sector because it is bedrock of the middle income of Sierra Leone.
According to him, the public sector is losing face every day because of politics, pointing out that he has seen people that are professional in their job, but have been sacked because they do not belong to certain political parties.
He lamented that let no countries will lecture Sierra Leone about democracy, highlighting former President Donald Trump of the United States of America has been indicted on four counts charges.
The Speaker of Parliament Dr. Abass Bundu said interference by certain countries into our elections is not good.
The Deputy Majority Whip 1 Hon Veronica K Sesay from Moyamba district said Sierra Leone is blessed with soil to feed Sierra Leone, noting that the nation has enough to feed itself.
Hon Sesay advised the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka to give machineries out to farmers and do follow up.
He said that the President said he is going to provide 500,000 jobs for the youths but that she wants the youths to do is to change their attitude.
She said that for any government to succeed there must be women of substance and integrity, so she thanked the President for the robust security he has provide the people of this nation.
She appealed to the 52 APC Members of Parliament to take their seats in parliament for the betterment of Sierra Leone.
