Female Players training

The Sierra Leone National Female national team will depart today to Cape Verde to represent Sierra Leone in the WAFU Women’s Zone ‘A’ tournament.

In preparation for the above tournament the technical team invited over 30 players from the various premier league clubs for trials. 

The head coach of the Sierra Leone national female team Ernest Hallowell on Sunday 15th January 2023 announced his final list of 20 players for the upcoming WAFU Zone ‘A’ Women’s tournament which will be hosted in Cape Verde.

The tournament will kick-off on Friday 20th January 2023 to the 30th January 2023. The players were selected from 7 female premier league clubs.

Among them FC Kallon and Mogbewma Queens (league leaders) provided five players each. Four came from Kahunla Rangers, 2 each from Mena Queens and Ram K and one each from Sierra Leone Police and Correctional Service. The 20 players started training as a team on Monday and will arrive in Cape Verde today for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Tournament.
