FREETOWN, March 22nd, (SALONE TIIMES) – The league coordinators of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association have registered another new club to take part in the ongoing Men’s ODI Premier League. The new club Shalima Cricket Club registers last week to take part in the ongoing league. The club was represented by Dipu Jha and Ravi who register the club at the CEO’s office at Kingtom in Freetown.

After the registration process, the association gave them one full kit bag to start preparation for the league. In the bag were batting pads, Batting Gloves, Arm Guards, Protective Helmets, Abdominal Boxes, Wicket Keeping Gloves and used balls. The representatives of the club Dipu and Ravi show appreciation to the association. In all 15 Premier league clubs have register for the Men’s ODI premier league. They assured the CEO that they will go by the rules of the league and will be always ready to serve the association. Despite coming in as a new club they are confident of nothing less than championships position in the ongoing league as they have the team to win the league. Already some clubs have played three matches with Shalima yet to play their first match. In this case they will prepare to play continuously in the upcoming weeks to equal with other clubs. Shalima like Asian Lions and Gujarat is dominated with Indian internationals. The CEO Francis Samura said getting more Indians in the league is an added advantage for their batsmen base on the style of the Indians bowling. Majority of the Indians are used to spin bowling which in the whole world no batsman is comfortable with. Meanwhile over the weekend the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) returned cricket competition to Bo School with two league matches. On Saturday Mid-West engage Regent Olympic in a must win match Mid-West who lost their first match. It was also a must win match for Regent Olympic who won their first match to make it two. On Sunday Mid-West engaged Kent Cricket Club at the same Bo School Ovals in Bo. Two matches took place each at the Njala Mokonde Ovals, Kingtom Ovals and the Prince of Wales School Ovals. But the results of the above matches were not known until press time.
