The first Para Games will be held in Accra Ghana in September 2023 with four sports. According to the notification of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC) Athletics and Para Powerlifting has been excluded from the Games.

Sierra Leone was unable to qualify in the Single Leg Amputee football. Besides, Sierra Leone is yet to introduce the other games like Wheelchair Tennis, Setting Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball.

The President of the Paralympic Committee Unisa Deen Kargbo said despite Sierra Leone will not be taking part in the Games as member of the AfPC, they will be following up the activities from start to finish.

He went on that they will be also be preparing to train athletes for the above wheelchair games for the future games. By so doing, the committee will be first working on how to train coaches by foreign experts and they in return will later train the athletes.

A member of the Sierra Leone Paralympic Committee executive said they have encouraged the Single Leg football players not to relent as the Ghana Games is just the first and not the last Para Games in Africa and the World.
