Rugby Players Set The Ghana Tournament

FREETOWN, Oct. 24 (SALONE TIMES) – The organizers of the West Africa Rugby Africa 7s Pre Qualifier Tournament have invited Sierra Leone to take part in the above tournament in Ghana for both men and women. In this regard the Rugby Union executive Sierra Leone headed by Jeremiah Moshopeh Pratt has appointed Mohamed Yansaneh as the head coach for the national team Lion Warriors. Mohamed has also been ordered to select 19 players across the regions to start training immediately. The tournament will kick-off in Ghana on the 13-14 November 2021. According to Pratt, the President of the Union, the players have started training and that the number of players will be cut down to 12 players for the final list of players for the tournament. He told the players to put up their best performance and advice the head to select the best among the lot as they are not ready to travel with ordinary passengers to Ghana. The invited countries for the both men and women categories are Ghana (Host), Cote D’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo and Guinea. But according to Pratt, Sierra Leone will be only taking part in the men’s category as for now they don’t have a female national team.
